  • Development Intern: CIS of Durham's Development Interns are assigned projects under the supervision of the Development Director. Projects include a wide-range of activities including assisting with CIS of Durham's fundraising events, soliciting in-kind donations, publicizing the organization through different media outlets, and creating monthly e-newsletters. Interns are given the freedom and opportunity to pursue the areas in which they are most interested and gain first-hand experience of marketing and development work within an education-based nonprofit organization. Internships are unpaid; however, students receive an invaluable work and learning experience and typically receive course credit.   • Evidence-Based Program Intern: This is an opportunity to learn about evidence-based programs, implementation strategies and science, while getting experience in program coordination. The EBP intern's focus is to coordinate and provide support to CIS of Durham's evidence-based programs, the Incredible Years (IY) Program and the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) 10-14. This position will also participate and provide support to Durham's IY Design Team, a project working to build Durham's capacity for Incredible Years using best practice guidelines of the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN). The EBP Coordinator will work closely with the CIS of Durham Program Director and the Family Support Specialist. We are looking for a Master's level student who is interested in macro-level, non-profit organization and a desire to work with evidence-based programs. Intern must show strong organizational skills, ability to think strategically, and ability to communicate effectively. Internships are unpaid; however, students receive an invaluable work and learning experience and typically receive course credit. The position can start any time and requires a one-year commitment.   • Program Coordinator Intern: This is an opportunity to learn how to coordinate and implement non-profit programs and events effectively and efficiently in the local community. The Program Coordinator Intern's focus is to provide support and coordinate CIS of Durham's various programs and events. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to create and ensure programs are implemented successfully. The Program Coordinator Intern will work closely with CIS of Durham's Family Support Specialist. We are looking for a Master's level student (Bachelor's level can be considered, with strong organizational skills) who is interested in macro-level, non-profit organization and management. Intern must show strong organizational skills, ability to think strategically, and ability to communicate effectively. Internships are unpaid; however, students receive an invaluable work and learning experience and typically receive course credit. The position can start any time and requires a one-year commitment.
